35th Anniversary Celebration: 1977 to 2012

On August 26th and 27th 2012 we celebrated the 35th Anniversary of the monastery's founding, the 40th Anniversary of our Abbess's monastic life-profession and the 50th Anniversary of our Mother Michaela's life-profession!

We thank our newly-elected Metropolitan Tikhon for presiding at the festal hierarchical Divine Liturgy that Saturday. We also thank Bishop Michael of the Diocese of New York and New Jersey for doing so much to make our celebration happen, Father Ilya Gotlinsky, pastor of Dormition Church, Binghamton, NY, for hosting Saturday's Divine Liturgy and Matushka Julianna for directing the amazing choir, Father Jim Dutko, pastor of St. Michael's Church, Binghamton and emcee extrodinaire and all the people of St. Michael's who worked so hard to host the banquet and make it a beautiful success and last but not least Tatiana and Jeffrey Hoff and the many friends who worked behind the scenes with them to coordinate the celebration.

Pilgrimage Days

On Saturday of the third weekend after Pascha, the Leave-taking of the feast of our patrons, the Holy Myrrhbearers, we set aside a Pilgrimage day to welcome all of you to join us for special prayer and fellowship. We also welcome small groups and individual guests at other times, when you may participate in our daily life of prayer and work.

We invite all of you to join us for any or all of the events of our Pilgrimages. Since we cannot know how many guests to prepare for ahead of time and since so many of you are good cooks, we always have Potluck refreshments: Anything you would like to bring is welcome. However if all you can bring is yourself, please do that! In between services, we share whatever you bring. Our own contribution to refreshments traditionally includes our own homemade bread and cheese.

We have open house with a chance to meet the sisterhood, see our monastery and tour our Zoar Farms.

Note: Our guest house accommodations are usually filled early for our Pilgrimages. Local motels etc. also seem to fill up quickly, especially when have competition from the local colleges or the Baseball Hall of Fame, so try toget your reservations in early: (link updated 12/2012) Accommodations in the Oneonta/Otego Area.
